| Did
you test your backup? |
 |
| |
What
would happen if you lost all your information? Would you loose
your business? Isn't it worth finding out if your backups are
working? Just because your backup software says you
have a successful backup doesn't mean you will be able to have
a successful restore! If you already have a backup
system then testing could relatively simple. |
|
If
you are running multi-user databases like accounting software
or specialty databases that are tailored to your business,
then I suggest you hire a consultant to coordinate the project.

If you don't have a backup routine and your business depends
on your computer then please call CompuAid at 650-591-8110. |

Testing
an already established backup routine can cost as little
as
$70.00 dollars for a good piece of mind! More complicated routines
(mainly networks) will cost more. Is your business worth
more
than 300.00? Most people would say yes!! Complete turnkey backup
solutions can cost as little as 250.00 for a PC (using CD-R,)
and 500.00 for a business (using tape or DVD.) |

Whether
you need to backup one computer or an entire network, Compuaid will
find a solution to your needs.
What
if that new virus erases your hard drive.
I put this page
on my main menu because it is so important. Most people think about
backing up but never do it. Do you run a business from your computer.
(i.e. QuickBooks, Excel or Word documents, email and address book,
etc.) Hard drives are mechanical devices and subject to break down
sooner than most any other part (besides fans.) Today's hard drives
spin at 10,000RPM... Your car engine would blow up well before that!
If that isn't enough... what about viruses! There are many viruses
that are programmed to erase your hard drive. Unfortunately the
hard drive is also the part that stores all your information (i.e.
QuickBooks, Excel or Word documents, email and address book, etc.)
Hard drive data recovery can cost over $1,000 and take several days!
That cost more that most backup solutions without even considering
all the down time.
There are low
cost ways to do this. First of all, you might already have a CD-RW
in your computer. You don't know how many people I've met who own
a CD-RW but don't know how to use it!
This is one of
the most economical ways to backup your files. 700MB for a dollar.
Even if you don't have CD-RW it might still be the best way. Zip
drives are a good way to backup small amounts of data - 250MB.
